I Caught 5 during a nuptial flight
They are around 1CM in length
And Black

Camponotus.

Exactly what length in mm?  Even the difference of 2-3 mm can make a huge difference.

10mm can only be Camponotus nearcticus.

Time from egg to worker depends on the temperature and the queen in question (if she is an egg eater).   Camponotus are one of the slowest growing species, and I find the first batch to be the slowest.
