So, a while back, i caught a colony of YCA, which had the harmless mites which stuck to the bodies of the workers. But now the mites have spread to both my anochetus queens and my cataglyphis. How do I get rid of them?

You could try to do what antscanada did and find some hypoaspis mites (they eat other mites) or just buy some.

I used a melon method. It worked. I was pretty early, so it wasn't that spread. I changed the melons every day until I saw no more mites. Took me 2 weeks.

Ow, my bad, lemon. Definitely lemon.

I think I saw mites in one of my tubes. If they are harmless, why get rid of them? I don't know the lemon method either.
