Can semi claustral queens still lay egg without foraging area?

I have no drill nor an area that I could use for my 3 odontoponera queens

i eat cars for breakfast everynight

Yes, they can.  You will just have to feed them inside their tubes.

I have no drill nor an area that I could use for my 3 odontoponera queens

i suggest you to put test tube on container and add some soil, they easily stressed in test tube


Colony:

2 Odontomachus aciculatus 

2 Polyrachis Dives

3 Camponotus sp

Get 3 cheap acrylic containers from the dollar shop. Something like this.

Those should do (just make sure they can't get out of them). Just add some sugars and food and they should be fine.

make cover for the tube like 

 

Get 3 cheap acrylic containers from the dollar shop. Something like this.

 

 

soil will make them comfortable cause they can't climb glass or plastic, they will take some soil to the tube

my DIY, for my Odontomachus queen and its work. i failed with Odontoponera mostly because idk their diet. I tried with mealworm and cricket, only manage to get larvae never get to pupae

yes!

 

I raise all my semi-claustrals in a  test tube for 1 week usually before opening it up in a tube and tubes setup.

that way they know the tube is safe and their home, otherwise they tend to nest in the outworld

 

But I usually keep my non bull ant  semi-claustrals in a sealed test tube, especially polyrachis as they have very slow growth times and fair better as such, as the food is there inside the test tube


Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum
