Those aren't Pogonomyrmex at all, they are Solenopsis xyloni. Pogonomyrmex californicus don't make majors either .

I was about to say something but then saw your post ys, lol yeah those are most definitely not Pogonomyrmex californicus bicolor.

Shoot, the fact about the majors is totally right. I'm interested as to how you guys knew from that they were actually Solenopsis?

Its really obvious, pogonomyrmex and solenopsis have completely different body shapes and proportions

Well, maybe they are more similar than I give them credit for, but if you have a decent amount of experience its easy to tell the difference, for one there is a size difference, by a few mm
