Don't put it in right away, the formacarium you bought was way too big, and you should wait to see if your queens get workers.

are you sure its big? its smaller the size of my hand (bigger than my palm but around the size including fingers or something idk).

Can you take a picture with a ruler or something for scale?

if you want to put a queen in it you should block some chambers of with cotton until they get to more workers and need that space for brood.

Brood is her eggs. But we don't just say eggs because the bigger ones are technically larvae and pupae.

I don't think that would work anyway for Odontoponera. Most ponerines can't climb glass and plastic. But if you could get perhaps a black crazy ant colony then you could use this.

don't worry you didn't. I often buy formicariums months before I get a colony for them. If you want a colony for that formicarium look under rocks or in palm fronds.

Yeah unlike me I didn't plan ahead and I have to wait 15-20 days to get my nest and outworld for my lasius colony. Buying extra nests is never a waste of money in this hobby! It would help to do some research before purchasing a nest for a colony to see what they their likes and dislikes are. You could have asked this question before ordering the nest but your colony will be able to move into that nest if you wait.

normally with your nest u should have some plastic sheet . you need to cup those plastic sheet and use it as gate/lock . look the front of your nest left side of the water tower you should see 2 slot.

Agreed. You can also move the queen's future colony in when they do get large enough.

Have some patience, young padawan, I caught my anochetus in April, it has been 5 months and she still has no workers.
