Just saying, I have talked to the permit department of both the USDA and FWC and both said there is no law against exporting non-protected species out of the country. I have it from the FWC in writing but the USDA was on the phone, the USDA also said the FWC would be the primary office in charge of exporting wildlife out of the country. However I have received somewhat conflicting information in that the Plant Protection Act has language that specifically says the word "export" and makes a distinction between interstate transport and export. However like I said both offices have directly told me that no special permit is required from them in order to move them out of the country. The only caveat I can see would be that the ants would have to be collected from a coastal state and shipped directly out of the country without any interstate transport.

AlabamaAnter = Joseph Kim.

So how many reports do people need to get banned for illegal trade? Joseph was doing that for literally two years and didn't get banned while doing it.

Yes, he left at some point but that was months (if not years) after it became clear he was illegally importing and selling european and asian ants (including invasives like Lasius niger and Myrmica rubra).

We should respect all forms of consciousness. The body is just a vessel, a mere hull.

To clarify, members only receive warnings when they break rules while using this platform.  If the user was "illegally" trading ants on another platform, Formiculture wouldn't have warned the user for that.  Any activity a user performs on this platform which breaks the forum rules is dealt with according to its severity and frequency.

If the user you're referring to wasn't banned, then the likely reason is that there was an insufficient number of reported messages or posts which broke the forum rules here.

I'm not asking for a ban actually. I'm putting it here, and you guys can do with it what you will.
