Hi, I'm from Sonora, Mexico and I found yesterday after a heavy rain a lot of ants and I think they are Queens, they are Huge! Roughly 15mm in length, can someone help me identify what species they are and any tips to raise them?? (Claustral or semi, poly or not). Thanks.

1. Location (on a map) of collection: Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico
2. Date of collection: August 11, 2019
3. Habitat of collection: Rural Area
4. Length (from head to gaster): Aprox. 15 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Big mandibles, large petiole
7. Distinguishing behavior: N/A
8. Nest description: N/A
9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

Pogonomyrmex rugosus

Fully claustral, but, giving them seeds during founding won't hurt. They're a type of harvester ant so their diet mostly consists of seeds. They're monogynous, but there are some possibly false records of multi-queen colonies.
