Hello Ant-friends !!

I often look at the cool ants people from other parts of the world have access too, and sometimes in green with jalousie to all the cool tropical and dessert type ants found in the Americas and Asia..

Is there any European ants people outside Europe would like to own? :)

Crematogatser scutellaris would be cool. Dolichoderus quadripunctatus are also awesome.

M. barbarus, and Lasius flavus.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Those big red headed majors are awesome. Plus they are super easy to keep.

Not sure if these are European, but Messor cephalotes
More realistically one of the Spanish Anochetus

Definitely Crematogaster scuttelaris. Plain old Lasius niger seem like the ideal ants to keep as well - fun and easy.

Heh, I guess I'm lucky. I own two M. barbarus colonies and a very big young colony of Crematogaster scutellaris.

We don't have them in my country tho. Lasius spp u see everywhere. Especially now. Thousands of queens.
