Hi

I have 3 lasius nests in their early stages. They are made from plaster. I think that I did hydrate them a lot and I'm finding some dead nanitics.

Can you tell me if over hydration of plaster can kill ants. BTW there is no mold in the nest.

A more detailed description of your colony’s age, living conditions, and feeding would help people to identify what might be the problem. Nanitics don’t live that long, so it may just be natural die off.
"The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer." Prov. 30:25
Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.

well nanitics are about 3 weeks old. I feed them honey water that was mixed with a raw egg and once a week I give them a very small piece of meal worm. The chamber is about 3cm  x 2cm x 2cm but 1 queen established herself in a plastic pipe that connects to the out world. The pipe is far away from the water source that's why I thought that i over hydrated the nest
