I'm thinking about making a small dirt setup inside of a glass jar with a plastic lid. I'm gonna put a small drainage layer on the bottom separated by some screen from the soil which is gonna be some eco earth mixed with some fine sand I washed and baked. Might put some small succulents, rocks, and wood chips to make it easier to look at. They only 2 to 5 workers with a qenerous pile of brood, should i wait until their larger to introduce them to it. Their just so small i don't think much else than a dirt setup could contain them.

You should wait for the ants to increase in population.

They just now today have their third worker. How many do you think they would need before I introduce them like 20 to 30?

Around that size, they will not feel safe if you open their test tube now.
