Hi guys so my componotus queen has laid a nice healthy brood like 20! Some of them are getting rather large.

However my test tube has gotten some mold and I've noticed that she's started tearing at the cotton to get out. So I have to get her out of there!

she's in a test tube set up.

My plan is to tape a new tube to the old tube, put a light on the tube she's currently in and lay a cloth over the new tube. Hopefully she will move her brood into the nice dark mold free new tube.

Thought I'd get any advice or tips anyone might have on this before I do it as this is my first queen. Does my plan sound like a good one?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds pretty good. Make sure there's a sliver of space between the tape and the test tube for air. And be patient, it may take maybe a few minutes to up to weeks for them to move. I've noticed most camponotus hate vibrations so tapping on the glass a little bit won't hurt.

Hope this helps! :D
