I’m sorry everyone, Keep getting an Error message saying I’m not permitted to upload this type of file. I’m not sure what the deal is so I’ll try and upload photos when I can get to civilization.

What time of day was it found?

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Ok I was able to get into town with my laptop. This was the best photo I could get of her.

Drew -  Thanks, I think it was just my phone, I live in the middle of nowhere and its my only form of connection and that's iffy on most days.

Nick -  I found her between 9:30-10pm on the sidewalk under a light.

Caught another one tonight close to the same place around the same time 9:30ish in a plastic cup sitting by my Bonsai trees. I also rechecked size and they are both about 4-5mm

This seems too small for Dorymyrmex insanus.

You are right. I could have sworn it said 6-8 mm when I looked at it. Maybe it was a different ID thread, or maybe i was half asleep. It's probably Brachymyrmex or Nylanderia.

I updated it when I got a better measurement of them, both are 4-5mm one slightly larger than the other but both are within that measurement. What would be the best care for them? Do all of those species have the same care requirements?

Ahh, now I know I'm not crazy. Yes, same care requirements.
