Anyone have any idea how long a fully claustal queen can go without food?
I've had 2 queens in test tubes for nearly 2.5 - 3 months. Both have eggs and it appears to be a few larvae. Though it doesnt appear to be any ninantics coming any time soon.
I'm only concerned cuz one is appearing very thin as of late and the other appears to have started pulling at the cotton/made a cotton bed.

As far as species its possibly a tetramorium, though they don't look like my other tetramorium queens and my 1 month younger tetramorium have larger brood piles and more larvae even though they're kept in the same area.

Any tips?

Usually, a fully claustral queen should be fine without food until nanitics arrive. If you would like to speed up the growth of the brood, I would try heating them. https://www.amazon.c...=gateway&sr=8-6
