honestly though, how does one even find this many ants, none the less catches about 2 more colonies everyday... Do you look in about 5 forests everyday or something

Only one forest. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I have some great diversity. I have just trained myself to spot any and all ants around me I guess. You will get there too. I've been doing this for 4 years now.

Found a bunch of new queens while black lighting! Two Solenopsis sp. queens, 12 Pheidole tysoni and bicarinata queens, a ton of Temnothorax queens and 15 Colobopsis impressa, mississippiensis and obliqua queens!

I wish I had more time for them. I'm actually downsizing my collection to a few colonies of a few species that I really want, so I might be able to start those back up.

Brachyponera chinensis (Colony #1)

I moved them into a small terrarium with coco pete soil instead of the clay soil found around here. It has some clover, and one other plant that I can't identify. They were dumped in about an hour ago, and the plants are already buried! They have about 200-250 workers and 2 queens and lots of eggs and larvae. Doing very well.

Ya, I’m going to try and limit my colonies (I don’t have near the number you have), but just so I can enjoy the ones I really want to! It’ll also make it less stressful.

They have 84 workers and around 100 brood in all stages! They are making a comeback!

Since C. cerasi flights have finally picked up, I have found about a dozen queens, but kept these two to hopefully found a polygynous colony.

They are going strong with 40 brood in all stages, still two queens and around 50 workers now. They love flightless fruit flies and agave syrup diluted with water.
