I found 5 of these in a huge flight today. I gave one to my brother, and will be keeping the rest. Also, these are the type that has really vibrant colors with the orange and yellow abdomen.

Wow! Good find! I wonder if these will fly soon in Virginia? What kind of habitat do you suggest searching in?

Wow, making me wish I still lived in TN! I haven't ever seen these in VA except for a lone major I found the other day. Keep us updated on these, they are one of my favorite species.

Nice, not much is flying in Bay Area, except Camponotus.

I thought that too. I found an infertile queen. It was 84 degrees.

Wow. I am really glad I collected as much as I did, because only 2 queens are even showing signs of being fertile. Queens #1 and #2 both have 2 orange eggs. :)

Btw the workers with queen #1 are boost workers.
