what's the weirdest thing to happen to you while anting? I got stung by a mason bee while rescuing a camponotus male (thought was queen) while keeping my family's dog away.

I had people point their phones at me and presumably take a video of me while I was crouched down catching a Prenolepis queen.

I'm not sure if this counts, but I went to my bathroom and found a Solenopsis xyloni queen stuck in the toilet.

While digging up a small myrmica colony at school I was threatened by a car full of drunk teenagers.

Not sure this counts but while I was digging an ant farm for a queen (that was last year when I didn't realize that it's cruel to them) and random kids thought I was planting

Well I think I've got something that might top all of this. Today while digging up first year formica colonies (they don't dig very far in first year) I found a condom.

I think I already posted this, but....

I was walking along in my 'hood thinking about how cool it would be to have a Myrmecocystus Mexicanus colony and looked down on the asphalt and there was a lone M. Mexicanus worker. Haven't found the colony, but I have a general idea where they are. Never seen one in my 'hood before or since.
