Thanks for making this. I don’t have time to make mine; school testing is coming up, and I NEED to study.

Anochetus sp 5mm - 2 queens

15mm test tube

2 queens, 8 eggs

Doing better than expected!

A really pretty bronze-red color, one of my favorite ants. The queens seem to cooperating well.

Myrmoteras binghamii 4mm

Homemade plaster nest

1 queen, 25 workers - 10 pupae, 5+ larvae, 6 eggs

Larvae are beginning to pupate and the queen has laid a few eggs. Not accepting any food though...

Ectomomyrmex sp 13mm

A tub of damp plaster

5 eggs

Just a photo shoot  ;)

Carebara sp 20mm queen

Plastic container with some dirt

30 - 40 workers, some larvae and eggs

Doing quite well

Only the queen left now, the workers escaped a few days ago and turned up poisoned.

Paratopula bauhinia 10mm queen

Petri dish with wet tissue

no eggs

Caught a queen!!! She shed her wings so I'm guessing she's fertile. If I manage to raise workers, I'll be the first person in the world to see more than one worker, larvae and eggs!

Carebara diversa 25mm queen

Critter keeper with soil and buried boiling tube

900 workers, 300+ larvae

Dang, I checked on their buried tube today and found the queen sitting in a fort/carpet made from larvae! There must be 300+ not sure if there is more in the dirt somewhere.

They ate 5 mealworms and 1 cricket yesterday.
