So it's been awhile since I have been here. Life has been weird this yr and I haven't had the chance to get back here and chat. A little update on my aphaenogaster picea colony which is booming now. Colony size us at least 250 workers with a ton of brood.

Quite large, have never gotten my colonies of this species that big yet. All seemed slow growing.

This is so great to see! Just got my first ant colony, aphaenogaster picea, started from a Queen. Only five workers have been spotted outside the nest so far and they are housed in a Closed Terrarium/Formicarium so I'm unable to see brood or queen but they have been eating isopods, chicken, Almonds, and Sesame Seeds as well as a bit of honey water so i think they are off to a strong start! Planning on moving them into an Ants Canada Hybrid V2 nest, once they have stable enough numbers. What kind of outworld/formicarium have you kept these ladies in?
