Today, December 7th, is the feast day of Saint Ambrose of Milan, the patron saint of beekeepers. He saw in bee hives a perfect model of the church's hierarchy and society in general, and legend has it that a swarm of bees landed on his mouth as an infant foretelling the sweet sermons he would preach.

As there is currently no patron of antkeeping, I'm going to go out on a limb to claim him as a patron of these fellow hymenopterans as well. Lord knows I could use all the help I can get in this hobby.

Worth a shot! I'll do whatever it takes at this point, especially to get them through hibernation.

Alright! According to infallible Google search, Ambrose is now officially the patron of antkeepers. My post is the first and only real hit.
