The queens were caught sometime during june 2018 and about a month later, (30/07/18) they had pupae.

The two colonies weren't doing too well by themselves sadly...

12/10/18

They each only had a few workers and not much brood. So i fused the two colonies together.

3/12/18

Now they live in a ants australia acrylic nest. Currently they have around 20 workers are 2 majors.

The new major is between the queens  :D

How did you fuse them without them killing each other at first contact?

Freezer and then wake up? :)

Funny how they are all squashed up in that corner of the nest

I just chilled both colonies for a few minutes, so that they became all sluggish, then I poured both colonies into a new and bigger tube. After that, back into the fridge for 2 mins and its done  :D
