I have a pavment ant colony and a carpenter ant colony, will a 42 degree fridge work if I haft to?

Of course. They shouldn't be cooled lower than 46°F anyway, and it's possible to hibernate them at 50°.
My hibernation wine cooler goes down to only 41 too.
Edit: although I might be misreading the question... Does the fridge only go as high as 42, or can be warmer? 42° is risky low

Do these even need to be hibernated? I never hibernate my colonies unless they are a mountain Camponotus sp.
