1.5 inch fire ants

I live in the West and its really dirty. By the property wall there has been a continuous infestation of fire ants. I cannot seem to kill these ants with chemicals, and they are 1.5 inches long. What should I do? Make an ant farm?

 

Maybe drop a hundred garden ants around the wall, but I don't know where the mound is (Most likely not even a mound, just a hole).

By west do you mean California?  It appears you are talking about harvester ants, not fire ants (fire ants are very small), since you are saying they are large.  1.5 inches is not possible for any ant species in the United States, it would be better if you could take accurate measurements.  If you are wanting to kill them, you need to find their nest entrances (there can be multiple) and just spray a bunch of raid/ant killer in and around the hole.

1.5 inch fire ants would be scary indeed!! :yes:

Silly boy, it is a well known fact that 1.5 inch fire ants (solenopsis stuipidus) cannot be burned. The only way to rid of them is to blast them off into space. Or give us a picture.
