I have seen some nice looking formicariums on Ebay that look real similar to the Hybrid Style that AntsCanada sell.  His username is "thepcfix" and I messaged him and he told me he made them with a 3D Printer.  One has chambers divided by three sections that can be blocked off until your colony grows enough to need more space, then remove the small dividers to allow access to more of the chambers.  Anyone use any of these...?

Thanks for any info...

Todd

Looks nice, I mean if one of my ant families can live in a Chinese takeaway container, anything else is bound to work :)

Can't tell if there are any vents to let air move, but all the basics are there

Although the Queen test tube port is kinda useless for that purpose, because if you attach it like that vertically she can slide down, and some of her brood may remain clinging at the top.
Maybe better to attach a PVC pipe from that to the test tube instead.

Current ant colonies -
1) Opisthopsis Rufithorax (strobe ant), Melophorus sp2. black and orange, Pheidole species, Pheidole antipodum

I am pretty sure that test tube is probably for water?

In the description it says it's a queen portal, but can also be used as a liquid feeder afterwards.

I think it may be simple port to allow a test tube to connect, and then I think an adaptor makes it upright for use as a water feeder

Or the other way around

"Queen" Adapter - This adapter attaches to the upper entrance so the new queen can have her test tube home attached and can enter the nest when ready.
It also doubles as a water supply for the colony after the queen is released into the nest.

If this kind seems to be lacking features they need, I am open to suggestions on which brand and style formicarium you would recommend for my first ever formicarium.

Planning on a species of Camponotus for my first colony.

Thanks for your input!  I'm a Newbie!

It looks OK to me

I think it will vent via the holes in the outworld lid, through the nest opening to the outworld

The nest roof doesn't appear to have any vents, so condensation may or may not form in the nest, since the large hydration chamber vents are there
