Just a curious question, what do you think the coolest ant ever is. Also what is the coolest ant you've ever kept in captivity.

Most beautiful would probably go to Rhytidoponera.. coolest looking would have to be Odontomachus or Myrmecia for me. The coolest ant I've ever kept is Pseudomyrmex gracilis.

Everyone knows fire ants! S. Invicta! RIFA! The more invasive the better.

Nah, I'm just joking. My favorite species would likely be bull dog ants. However the best I have kept is C. noveboracensis.

Crematogaster scutellaris are my pick for the coolest ants(maybe), or Bull Ants.

Crematogaster minutissima smithi are the coolest I've ever kept

Myrmica, you can toss them into almost anything and they'll do good in it.

They're one of the few ants that are almost more wasp like then ant like. They have all of the Bull Ant characteristics too, amazing vision, great grip, and a painful sting. They're the Americas equivalent to Bull Ants is what I'm getting at.
