I think this could be split into 2 parts.

What is my favorite species?

What is my favorite species that I would want to keep?

My favorite species seems to change every 6-10 months or so (usually depending if I am after a certain species, or if one of my colonies is really active and interesting).

I tend to favor the Formica group as a whole.

I like Formica parasites, they are so aggresive. I also like Myrmica, and Tetramorium. I would like to keep Ondontomachus.

Solenopsis xyloni is probably my favorite species. I like fire ants.

I also like the bigger ants like Veromessor and Pogonomyrmex.

The ant I want to get my hands on is Odontomachus clarus.

Those aren't going to fit anything but very small ants.

There is a link somewhere on this forum to a good deal; they are also the test tubes that I use, and I think Drew does too.

My top five ants are:

-Anything in the Attine tribe

-Odontomachus

-Cephalotes

-Myrmecocystus

-Pheidolegeton (Pheidolegeton diversus is the coolest!)

You should change you Pheidole and geton at the end, and the species should be diversus, Like how I made it.

Nah. All my favorites are in California or Arizona, which is probably where I will end up anyway. :)

Have you ever thought about going to Africa or Madagascar? I think that would be cool.

My signature says all.

Prenolepis imparis.

I'd actually like Honeypot ants but they don't live anywhere near my location, so False Honeypot ants for me. I just want one single colony of Prenolepis imparis ultimately. All other ants I am caring for is a part of my learning progress.
