Collection: Middle Florida

Today's Date: June 23, 2017

Queen #1

Collection: Backyard pool

Date of Collection: June 15, 2017

Habitat: Seems to be the surrounding grassy area by the bushes, I see worker ants of similar coloration there all the time.

Length: Roughly 6-8mm

Coloration: Seems to be a dark red with some black on her gaster.

Queen #2

1. Trunk of car (trust me I was surprised)

2. June 20, 2017
3. Next to a golf course, so most likely form there.
4. 12-14 mm (Used ruler)

5. Dark red on head and thorax, but black gaster.
My guess was Camponotus floridanus, but I'm not sure.
