I found a colony!!!

Was looking to get a few termites to feed to my ants when I moved a loose piece of bark on a log. I saw the ants, realized the were tennesseensis, AND THEN I SAW THE QUEEN!!!

I had a test tube for the termites so I captured her then went back quickly and captured all the brood and workers!!

Pictures Suck! but here's what I got Queen first!

I wish I had got a better pic of the queen but she's all setup now with the others I basically did a quick test tube and outworld setup that I had used with my C. castaneus. Here they are!!!

BTW this is temporary. I am working on a better formicarium but I wasn't really expecting these.

Good job! Just a thing though, those are not Aphaenogaster tennesseensis, they are Aphaenogaster fulva. Aphaenogaster tennesseensis queens are completely orange, shiny, have no texture, and have a different body plan, and their workers have fully orange gasters. Still, good job though! (y)
