This has been an idea a few years in the making and is still in the prototyping/development stages.

I really enjoyed keeping honeypots when I had them but what I did not enjoy was trying to find proper housing for them once they outgrew their test tubes.

That is where this idea comes in. It is intended for housing small to medium colonies of ants that have repletes. Depending on the level of interest I may make some to offer for sale.

Not too bad for the first prototype. Edit: This still needs to have some sand for texture glued onto it, but for the prototyping stage of things I will not be doing that.

Looks amazing. Please update how it works! Too many folks here post incredible empty formicarium photos and never update how they actually functioned in real time.

I cannot test it right now as I do not have any ants (argentine ants got all my colonies) but I will try to remember to update this if/when it gets tested.

There is a hole in the bottom that I can insert a piece of tile and then the whole thing will sit on top of a water reservoir.

Looks like the dumbest idea I've ever seen. Get good at antkeeping, THEN make your ideas public. I've been doing this for three years I and bet I could build a nest ten times better than yours.

Also, learn how to post pictures on a place you seem to frequent often. What a joke.

Dude, you need to chill. Why did you feel the need to resurrect a nearly year old thread just to dump negativity?
