Camponotus quercicola in the garage

Camponotus quercicola in the garage

This is my first start at keeping ants. Camponotus quercicola; 1 queen, 9 workers, and 4 or 5 larvae.

I have added some small oak bark chips at the far end of the container. These were from a local oak tree, and the bark was frozen for a week prior to adding to the box in which the vial is kept. These are stored in a darker location, but I have to take a peek every once in a while. I'm really excited to see what happens when I bring them out in a month or so.
